After searching the Library's Catalog (this is the library's "new" catalog), you discover the library doesn't carry that particular item, you can submit an ILL (Interlibrary Loan) request.
Our Library Catalog searches not just us, but almost all the libraries in the world, so if you find a title that you want, but we don't have, click on the title, and look for the button . After that you will enter in your contact information on the next screen.
What happens next is that the form you filled out gets sent to the Reference Librarian, and she asks other libraries if we can borrow their copy. If they say yes, they will send it to our library with a due date on it. After processing, the Reference Librarian will call you to let you know when it is here.
Please return the item on time (preferably days ahead of the due date). If you need more time, PLEASE CONTACT THE REFERENCE LIBRARIAN DAYS AHEAD OF THE DUE DATE, so that way she can ask the lending library if they can extend the due date.
Not every library is willing to extend the due date, it just depends.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows us to borrow and lend materials from other libraries usually at no cost. This service is available to all students and employees of NTCC. For more information, click on the link to be redirected to the ILL page.
If an article or book is not readily available, please click on the ILL button (on the right of the item desired), or please contact the Reference Librarian, Heather Shaw, to submit an ILL request.

To make the process smoother, please provide:
1) your name and contact information,
2) title,
3) author(s),
4) date of publication,
5) publisher,
6) name of journal/magazine/periodical along with volume and issue numbers.
7) Include page numbers if you are not requesting the entire book or periodical.
8) If you have the ISBN of the book, or ISSN of the periodical, please provide it.
If there is a charge, you will get a phone call asking if the library has your permission to proceed, but almost always the service is free.
