Scholarly Journals

Many instructors require their students to use scholarly journals for their assignments.

The PowerPoint presentation below explains the difference between scholarly journals and popular magazines.

If you do not have PowerPoint, click on the Adobe PDF version, instead.

Full-text Journals

NTCC Library has access to thousands of full-text articles. The following full-text journals are just some of the available titles in your area of study.  Use the WorldShare Discovery widget above to access these -and other- titles, whether they are in print or electronic format.

Please use your MyEagle Portal credentials to login, if off campus.  If on campus, be sure to use the Eagle WiFi, not the Guest WiFi.  If you need further assistance, please contact library@ntcc.edu or (903)434-8151.

Databases

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows us to borrow and lend materials from other libraries usually at no cost. This service is available to all students and employees of NTCC.  For more information, click on the link to be redirected to the ILL page.

If an article or book is not readily available, please click on the ILL button (on the right of the item desired), or please contact the Reference Librarian, Heather Shaw, to submit an ILL request.

To make the process smoother, please provide:

1) your name and contact information,
2) title,
3) author(s),
4) date of publication,
5) publisher,
6) name of journal/magazine/periodical along with volume and issue numbers.
7) Include page numbers if you are not requesting the entire book or periodical.
8) If you have the ISBN of the book, or ISSN of the periodical, please provide it.

If there is a charge, you will get a phone call asking if the library has your permission to proceed, but almost always the service is free.
